Live in New Orleans? Volunteer With Moratorium 2000! Moratorium 2000 has just opened their national headquarters in New Orleans. If you live in the area, and would like to help Sr. Helen organize for a moratorium on the death penalty, call (504) 864-1071. The office is located at 7611 Maple Street, Suite 103 (between Broadway and S. Carrollton, near Tulane University). There are opportunities during the day and at least one evening a week. Everyone is welcome. |

Celebrate with Moratorium 2000 in New York City! Join Sr. Helen Prejean and representatives from the Sant' Egidio Community and Amnesty International on December 18, 2000. They will present to the United Nations Secretary General almost 3 million Moratorium 2000 signatures from around the world, and celebrate the growing call for a global moratorium on the death penalty. Join Moratorium 2000 supporters outside the UN Headquarters in a show of international solidarity. The rally will be held in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, East 47th and First Ave. from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Sr. Helen and Susan Sarandon will address the crowd around noon. Bring signs and banners! |
