Whether you're in high school or college, we'll work with you to make your moratorium petition drive a success. Plan it along with another activity, like a debate about capital punishment, a concert by some local musicians, or a guest speaker who's against executions. Or maybe you could host a Dead Man Walking study group, where you gather some friends together to read Sr. Helen Prejean's book or watch the film starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.

Whatever you do, make sure you have enough materials to get the information in the hands of your audience. Like Sr. Helen says, "Support for the death penalty seems like it's a mile wide. Maybe so, but it's only an inch deep. All it takes is one or two of the facts to start changing people's minds and hearts."
